I took the “Gateway to Meditation” class on approach to my GCSE studies; I was 14 at the time and wanted some help with worry about my GCSE success. Sometimes little things would bother me. Pamela was a good teacher and was very calm; the breathing exercises she taught helped me to keep calm too. I enjoyed the visualisation most as it helped me to focus whilst I was relaxed. This helped me also not to become distracted when I want to focus and concentrate more, so much so that I rarely worry any more. I use the meditations at home and after stressful or frustrating situations.

I have recently completed the 6 sessions of 14+ Gateway to Meditation course with Pamela Skeen of Soul 2 Sole Meditations 4 Healing. I am 15 years old and have felt a definite if not huge improvement! The Meditations used are 3 different types:
  1. Progressive Physical Relaxation
  2. Breathing Relaxations
  3. Guided Visualisation – with use of all 5 inner senses

I found these methods of enormous use and very effective for me.

  1. The physical relaxation has helped me to easily fall asleep at night.
  2. I found the breathing exercises have been good for helping me to concentrate better in both my English exam and football competition.
  3. The visualisation has helped me to follow ideas in a better manner, with creativity to produce more ideas in my studies and complete my exams in good time.

The course has helped me to relax a lot more, which is useful and has helped my creativity.
The hand-outs that accompany the course by email were easy to understand and very logical.
It is possible that at university I will continue to develop my meditation practices. I can also see the enormous potential and benefit later in life, to be able to detach myself from negative people, situations and circumstances.
